As creator and host of the Emmy Award winning series Equitrekking, I travel the world searching for great horse and travel adventures.  One of the wonderful things about these travels is meeting local people who help me discover history, stunning scenery, culture and destinations that aren’t on the typical tourist path. This is my favorite way to travel, because I learn things that aren't found in the guidebooks.

On ShopDarley.com, you’ll find products that spring from my travels for the Equitrekking television series, including fine art travel and horse photography by Chip Ward, Equitrekking's Executive Producer and Photographer and the Darley Jewelry Collection of travel inspired jewelry. The Darley jewelry creations are designed exclusively for ShopDarley.com and inspired by the locations of the Equitrekking TV series. Although similar, each individual jewelry piece and its gemstones are unique. No two semiprecious stones or their arrangement is quite the same -- and the numbers of each piece that are available are limited by the selection of gemstones. You should also know that only a limited number of each line of bracelets can be crafted because we do not have access to an endless number of fine quality stones with which we can produce a bracelet. When we are unable to complete one more bracelet, that line will effectively end.  For authenticity, each piece is individually tagged as from the "Darley" line and hand made only upon your order in the U.S.A.

Darley Newman

Darley Newman is a travel expert, published author and Emmy nominated host and producer, who searches the globe for the best in equestrian travel, while learning about local history, culture and food, for the high definition Equitrekking television series that she created. Darley is the host and producer of Equitrekking®, the first travel television series to explore the globe on horseback. Emmy Award winningEquitrekking is broadcast in on PBS stations across the nation, on CREATE, a nationwide Public Television lifestyle channel and international networks in over 25 countries including France, Italy, Russia, Turkey and beyond.

With Equitrekking, Darley combines her passion for horses and travel with her background in television production. Darley has worked at 48 Hours, CBS, the WB, The Talk Radio News Service and on various PBS documentaries and series. Darley grew up in South Carolina and started riding horses at the age of seven. Primarily an English rider, Darley rides different horses and all types of local riding styles as she travels the globe. In high school and college, Darley studied in Spain and Italy, trips that fueled her interest in seeing the world.

While filming Equitrekking, Darley constantly encounters challenging places to explore on horseback, like the crater of a volcano on Maui, the backcountry in snowy Quebec, the varied terrain along the U.S. Mexico border and the rainforest in Costa Rica and Belize. She’s ridden championship cutting horses in Colorado, award winning Andalusians in Spain and famous movie star horses in Utah.

Darley chronicles her adventures through Darley’s Blog, Equisearch.com and for Equitrekking’s monthly e-newsletter. She is author of the Equitrekking: Travel Adventures on Horseback companion book, published by Chronicle Books. This beautiful coffee table style travelogue showcases Equitrekking’s first 13 destinations through Darley’s writings and Chip Ward’s stunning photography. Recently reviewed in the Denver Post and Budget Travel, Equitrekking: Travel Adventures on Horseback takes readers from the remarkable ruins of Ireland and charming colonial towns of Spain, to the lush rainforests of Hawaii. For armchair travelers and horse lovers alike, the Equitrekking book will inspire anyone who dreams of riding off into the sunset.

Darley writes regular columns for True West and Practical Horseman magazines and frequently speaks at events and to the media. Darley is currently featured in the book, How’d You Score That Gig, a look at the coolest careers for twenty and thirty-something’s, published by Ballantine Books/Random House and was recently profiled in the Washington Post and Ralph Lauren magazine. Photographer Chip Ward

Photographer Chip Ward captures the beauty of our natural world, as he travels the globe as the photographer and Emmy nominated producer for the Emmy Award winning Equitrekking travel television series on PBS. Ward’s photographs have been published in various magazines, including Ralph Lauren, Practical Horseman and True West, and are the centerpiece of the Equitrekking Travel Adventures on Horseback coffee table book published by Chronicle Books.

Growing up in Connecticut, photography was always a hobby for Ward, who focused on winter landscapes and later wildlife, horses and natural scenery. Ward left a corporate consulting job to peruse his passion for photography and executive produce the Equitrekking series.

Recent expeditions have taken Ward to Costa Rica, Arizona, Uruguay, Ireland, Hawaii and Turkey, where Ward says the diversity of cultures and history is most intriguing. Ward enjoys discovering remote and lesser-trafficked areas of the globe and showcasing the beauty of the environment and wildlife through his colorful photographs.
